Description

The Grays facemask is protection for defending short corners in field hockey. When defending a penalty corner, players stand on the goal line facing the drag-flick and hit – the mask protects the face from a ball strike.

Who it is for

For any outfield player who runs out to defend short corners. By the rules, the mask is worn only for the duration of the corner defence.

Construction and materials

A high impact-resistance polycarbonate shell in a clear finish for full field of view. Dual-density foam padding cushions the strike. Adjustable straps fit the mask to the head.

About Grays

Grays is a British company from Cambridge, founded in 1855 by H.J. Gray, a rackets champion. It has been making hockey sticks since the 1870s, starting with ash, and in 1998 it introduced the GX series, its first range of composite sticks. The company is still family-owned and run by the fifth generation. For field hockey, Grays offers composite sticks (including the GX, GR and AC ranges, with the current line-up also named by bow shape: Jumbow, Probow and Dynabow), indoor sticks, goalkeeping equipment (such as the Nitro, Elite, G100 and G90 sets), shin guards, gloves, face masks and bags. The range covers juniors, club players and international-level athletes.
