Gryphon Chubby Grip – thicker cushioning grip, increases handle size and dampens vibration on impact.
Description
Gryphon Chubby Grip – a thicker cushioning wrap
A thicker (chubby) wrap that increases the handle circumference and damps post-hit vibration more firmly. The thicker grip eases the wrist and hand over long play and hard hits – a good option for players with larger hands or a tendency to blister.
Who it is for
For players who want a fuller, more comfortable grip and more vibration damping than a thin classic wrap. Useful for frequent, hard hitting.
Construction
- Increased thickness – larger handle circumference
- Post-hit vibration damping
- Black

About Gryphon
Gryphon is an Australian brand based in Perth, Western Australia. Its story began in the late 1970s, when Peter Haselhurst, a hockey player and physics student, started reinforcing broken sticks with fibreglass and resin. In the early 1980s he co-founded the company with team-mate Richard Charlesworth, and the brand was officially launched in 1983. In 1990 Gryphon built its first composite stick from fibreglass, carbon and resin.
Today Gryphon makes composite sticks in ranges such as Tour (with Kraibon, an energy-absorbing material, for a more cushioned touch) and Taboo (Blue Steel, Striker and Dekoda variants), as well as bags, protective gear and goalkeeping equipment. The company describes its line-up as covering players from entry level to elite, with different stiffness levels and bow shapes.
