Description

The TK P6 Control Bow is the entry model in the TK Sports Performance range. It is made of 10% carbon, 85% fibreglass and 5% aramid, the least carbon of the P4, P5 and P6. The mix is about soft ball feel and durability rather than maximum hitting power.

Who it is for

For players picking up a composite stick for the first time, and for juniors learning the basics. TK also points out that the P6 suits players of every level and every position, from attack to defence.

Control Bow profile

The bow is 24 mm deep and peaks 240 mm from the head. A curve set further from the head than on Late Bow sticks makes receiving, carrying and passing a flat ball easier, which is why it works well for learning. Lifting the ball takes more technique with this profile.

Construction

Fibreglass gives flexibility and aramid adds durability. According to TK, the stick keeps solid hitting power even with only 10% carbon. It is built with Japanese carbon and NPR (Nano Polymer Resin).

Weight and balance

According to TK the stick weighs 530 g (±10 g, L weight class) with a balance point at 40 cm (±1 cm).

Length

In stock in 36.5″ and 37.5″. Choose the length to suit the player’s height.

About TK
TK is a German hockey brand founded by Thomas Kille, a former player who started out by reinforcing traditional sticks with fibreglass and polyester. TK-branded sticks have been on sale since January 1985. The brand is now produced by TK Sports GmbH and describes itself as run by hockey players for hockey players. TK's range includes composite sticks in the P1 to P6 series (from advanced to entry-level models), wooden and hybrid sticks, indoor sticks and junior models. Goalkeeping is a separate specialism, with the TK1 to TK4 series covering legguards, kickers, hand protectors, chest guards, helmets and goalie bags. There are also shin guards, gloves, penalty-corner protection and stick bags. You can find equipment for juniors as well as league-level players.

Sizes

Not sure which size to choose? The size guide has a stick length chart based on height, plus guidance on shinguards, gloves and footwear.

Sizing differs between brands. If the product comes with a manufacturer size chart, go by the measurements in centimetres rather than the size letter alone.
