The weekend of 10–11 October in Polish hockey – Superliga, I liga and junior results
The second October weekend on grass brought two Superliga matches decided by shoot-outs, five I liga games and more girls' and boys' junior matches. All the results below come from the summary “Za nami weekend z hokejem (10-11.10.2026 r.)” published by the Polish Field Hockey Association (PZHT). The report gives the pairings and scores, without scorers, line-ups or the venues where the matches were played, so we do not add that information. If you are only just getting to know how Polish competitions are organised, you will find a description of the leagues and clubs in our post on hockey in Poland and the 100th anniversary of PZHT.
Superliga: two draws and two shoot-outs
Four matches were played in the men's top division:
- KS Warta Poznań – LKS Gąsawa 2:1
- WKS Grunwald Poznań – HK Pomorzanin Toruń 3:3 (shoot-out 5:4)
- AZS Politechnika Poznańska – KS Stella Gniezno 4:3
- ENEA AZS AWF Poznań – ABEX Rekreacja HKS Siemianowiczanka 5:5 (shoot-out 3:1)
None of the four matches had a margin greater than one goal. KS Warta Poznań beat LKS Gąsawa 2:1, and AZS Politechnika Poznańska beat KS Stella Gniezno 4:3. The other two matches ended level after regulation time. WKS Grunwald Poznań and HK Pomorzanin Toruń drew 3:3, and Grunwald came out on top in the shoot-out, 5:4. The most goals in this Superliga round came in the match between ENEA AZS AWF Poznań and ABEX Rekreacja HKS Siemianowiczanka: 5:5 in regulation time, followed by 3:1 to AWF in the shoot-out. A total of 26 goals were scored in regulation time across the four matches.
For comparison, over the weekend of 3–4 October, according to the PZHT summary of that round, ABEX Rekreacja HKS Siemianowiczanka beat WKS Grunwald Poznań 8:1, and LKS Gąsawa beat AZS Politechnika Poznańska 2:1. This time Gąsawa lost 1:2 to Warta, and Politechnika won its match by a single goal. We collected the results from the previous weekend in a separate post, and we do not give a table because the association's report does not include one.

Girls' and boys' juniors
The junior results, in the order given by PZHT:
Girls' juniors
- AZS Politechnika Poznańska – KS Hokej Start Brzeziny – match postponed
- UKS SP5 Swarek Swarzędz – UKS Orient II Łozina 8:1
Boys' juniors
- UKH Start 1954 Gniezno – KS Warta Poznań 0:5

Only one girls' junior match was played: UKS SP5 Swarek Swarzędz beat UKS Orient II Łozina 8:1. The match between AZS Politechnika Poznańska and KS Hokej Start Brzeziny was postponed. The report does not give a new date, so it is worth keeping an eye on the fixture list on the association's website.
In the boys' juniors KS Warta Poznań beat UKH Start 1954 Gniezno 5:0, and KS AZS AWF Poznań beat LKS Rogowo 6:2. The third match, LKS Gąsawa against UKS SP5 Swarek Swarzędz, ended in a 4:4 draw and a shoot-out, which Swarzędz won 4:2. It was similar a week earlier: according to PZHT, a shoot-out then decided the boys' junior match between UKS SP5 Swarek Swarzędz and KS AZS AWF Poznań.
In total, shoot-outs decided three matches this weekend: two in the Superliga and one in the boys' juniors. We described what the procedure looks like, how much time a player has for an attempt and how it can be practised in training in our post on the shoot-out in hockey.
What comes next
The autumn outdoor round continues. The Polish Field Hockey Association publishes the fixture list, results and information on postponed matches as they happen, and summaries of the following weekends appear in the news section of its website. It is worth checking match times and venues before you set off, because they can change, as this weekend's postponed girls' junior match showed.
For many players, October matches also mean longer journeys and longer days at the venue, especially in the junior competitions. A well-packed bag helps avoid last-minute stress before the warm-up: the stick in a separate pocket, the mouthguard and shin guards in a fixed place, a spare layer for a cooler afternoon and a separate bag for wet kit after the match. We set out the kit list and how to pack for training and a tournament in our post on the stick bag and packing for a tournament.
If your current bag no longer fits all your kit, or you are looking for a backpack for shorter trips, have a look at the bags and backpacks category.
