The Osaka Low Bow Advanced 40 is a composite field hockey stick for the 2026 season, built from 35% carbon, 60% fibreglass and 5% Kevlar. This layup produces a soft, forgiving flex - the stick returns energy on the hit yet does not punish an imperfect strike, which suits players still developing their technique.

Who it is for

Aimed at intermediate players moving up from glass sticks to their first stick with a real carbon share. The Low Bow profile supports close ball carrying, drag-flicking and hitting off the forehand, so it works well for forwards and midfielders building a technical game.

The Low Bow profile has a 24 mm bow depth, with the apex 200 mm from the head. This bow position makes 3D ball control and lifting the ball into drag-flicks easier. The lower carbon share (35%) reduces stiffness against elite models - the stick absorbs receptions better at the cost of some hitting power.

Who it is for

For developing and intermediate players who prioritise 3D ball control over raw hitting power. The softer layup forgives imperfect contact, so it supports learning to dribble and to lift the ball in small movements.

The Pro Bow profile has a 24 mm bow depth, with the apex 250 mm from the head. Placing the bow higher than the Low Bow (200 mm) gives a more even curve - the design emphasises 3D control first and drag-flicks and shooting second. The 35% carbon share lowers stiffness, improving forgiveness and ball feel.
