The TK P5 Control Bow is a composite field hockey stick from the TK Sports Performance range. It is made of 20% carbon, 70% fibreglass and 10% aramid. It feels light and quick in the hand, and the Control Bow profile puts ball control first.
Who it is for
TK designs the P5 for juniors stepping up and for experienced players who want one stick for everything. TK calls the Control Bow the all-rounder among its bow shapes, so the P5 works in attack, midfield and defence. It suits a player who values a clean first touch and pass more than spectacular lifts.
Control Bow profile
The bow is 24 mm deep and peaks 240 mm from the head – 20 mm further than a Late Bow. This curve makes receiving and carrying a flat ball, passing and hitting easier. Lifting the ball and drag flicking take more technique.
Construction
With little carbon, the hitting power comes from fibreglass and aramid. Fibreglass gives flexibility and ball feel, aramid adds durability. TK builds this model with Japanese carbon and NPR (Nano Polymer Resin), which stiffens the stick and cuts unwanted vibration.
Weight and balance
According to TK the stick weighs 530 g (±10 g, L weight class) with a balance point at 40 cm (±1 cm).
