Below we go through all the parameters in the order worth thinking about. You will also find each of them as a filter in our shop.

1. Playing level

Beginners and juniors — a wooden or composite stick with low carbon content (up to 30%). More flexible, forgiving on receptions and easier on the wrists.

Club player — 30–70% carbon. A compromise between hitting power and control; this is where most players play.

Competitive player — 90–100% carbon. Maximum stiffness and hitting power, but it requires solid receiving technique.

2. Material and carbon content

The more carbon, the stiffer the stick — hits and ball release gain power, but hard receptions require better technique. Wood and fibreglass dampen vibrations and give more ball feel. We list the carbon content for every stick and you can filter by it.

3. Bow — the parameter that makes the difference

The bow is the profile of the shaft's curve — the most important parameter for a player who knows how they play. We describe it with three values: type, bow height in millimetres (usually 20–25 mm) and the position of the maximum bow relative to the head.

Standard / mid bow (~22 mm, curve in the middle) — universal and predictable; the best choice for most players.

Low bow / late bow (~24–25 mm, curve shifted towards the head) — makes drag flicks, 3D skills and lifting the ball easier; requires control, as flat pushes tend to “climb”.

Extra low — the extreme version for set-piece specialists.

Thanks to complete bow data you can compare sticks across brands and find the equivalent of the model you are used to — we list manufacturers' bow codes (e.g. PRO, LOW, XTREME) for every model.

4. Head shape

Midi — the most popular, good for everything: receiving, dribbling, shooting.

Maxi — a larger stopping and blocking surface; a frequent choice of defenders and players receiving high balls.

Hook / J-hook — the elongated “hook” gives more surface on the backhand.

Shorti — a small, agile head for players who prioritise fast dribbling.

5. Weight and balance

Forwards usually choose lighter sticks (fast hands in the circle), defenders — slightly heavier ones (more stable blocks and stronger clears). A low balance point (centre of gravity closer to the head) speeds up dribbling; a higher one adds power to the hit.

6. Playing position

Forward — a light stick, low/mid bow, midi or shorti head.

Midfielder — a universal mid bow, medium weight.

Defender — a stiff stick with hitting power, often maxi, can be heavier.

7. Outdoor or indoor?

These are two different sticks. The outdoor stick is thicker and stiffer — for grass and artificial turf. The indoor stick is noticeably thinner and lighter, built for fast play on hall floors (the indoor season in Poland runs from November to February). You do not play both variants with one stick — that is why the shop has an outdoor/indoor switch at the top of the page.

Not sure what to choose?

Use the shop filters (level, carbon, bow, position, length) or write to us — equipment here is chosen by someone who has actually played the game. You will find the right stick length in the Size Guide.

Kij to najważniejszy element wyposażenia zawodnika — a dobrze dobrany potrafi realnie zmienić grę.
